How live translation works
Depending on the language pair, V8Chat Translate uses an optimised direct live route, a chained transcription and translation route, or a text fallback. The interface shows only the understandable user mode while provider details stay in the background.
Limits, browsers and privacy
Push-to-talk remains the reliable default. Automatic speaker separation is not presented as complete until it is sufficiently stable. Realtime translation requires an internet connection. Browser-tab audio depends on the browser, operating system and selected sharing source. Audio and transcripts are not stored permanently in the default mode. AI translations may make mistakes with noise, dialects, names and specialist terminology.

Which language is preselected as the target?
V8Chat Translate detects the preferred browser or page language and uses it as the target. The source remains set to automatic detection.
Are audio or transcripts stored?
By default, neither audio nor conversation transcripts are stored permanently. Only minimal technical usage data is retained for the configured period.
Why is audio output unavailable for some languages?
Some pairs are released for live audio, others for live subtitles or text translation. The routing engine starts only technically supported combinations.
